RankingsBest Ladies' Hybrids 2026The three I picked from the loft range, weight and price numbers
Updated: Nov 7, 2026Contains affiliate links
The ball won't get up with your irons, and your second shot keeps finishing short of the green. That's when you start wanting to hand the job to a hybrid. For anyone torn over which one, I lined up nine.
For ladies' hybrids, #1 is the XXIO 14 Ladies, #2 the PING G LE 4 and #3 the Onoff UTILITY WINGS LADY.
The spec tables showed hybrids at 35° and 36°.
35° is nearly the same loft as the XXIO 14 Ladies 8-iron (34°). So hybrids can now cover the distance of a 7-iron or an 8-iron.
As a gear nerd who averages 72 with a best of 68 and spends his time studying how clubs are built, I compared nine clubs by loft range and weight. It lets you decide how much to hand over to hybrids if your irons won't get airborne.
What I checked by hand:In October 2026, at a local golf shop, I held the XXIO 14 Ladies hybrid. It felt light and easy to swing, and I held the 35° loft in my hand to see it. The 35° looked a little longer than an 8-iron (34°), and it felt clearly lighter (my impression). I compare distance using the official specs. The local indoor golf range has a TrackMan, but it doesn't stock women's hybrids, so I couldn't hit any of the models in this article. The problem: I can't judge distance or feel. I looked at the G LE 4 and the ONOFF in the shop, and I compare the other six, including the B-LD, from the official spec sheets. For reference, on a cloudy 16°C day in October at a hilly course in Chiba with two friends, I hit a G440 21° (hybrid) on the 7th hole's second shot and it stopped 205 yards away. It isn't a women's club; it's just a point of comparison.
The Gear Nerd's Pick
#1: Dunlop XXIO 14 Ladies Hybrid (¥50,600) It comes in five clubs from 22° to 35°. It's also light: 295 g at 25° in L. A hybrid has a lower, deeper center of gravity than an iron, so the ball launches higher at the same loft. If you can't get your 7-iron (30°) up, swap to a 31° hybrid. With the XXIO, you can keep swapping all the way up to 35°. It has the longest path for replacing irons.

Bottom line
How many hybrids to carry depends on which iron you can get airborne from.
If your 7-iron gets up, two hybrids at 25° and 28° are enough. If your 7-iron is shaky too, go up to 31°. If your 8-iron is the problem as well, you can go to 35°.
You'll carry fewer irons. That's nothing to be embarrassed about; carrying a club you can't get up costs you strokes.
If you can't decide, pick just one hybrid whose loft matches the iron you struggle with most, from the XXIO 14 Ladies or the ONOFF.
If your current 5- and 6-hybrids aren't giving you trouble, there's no need to replace them.
What did I judge by? Loft range, weight and price
A hybrid fills the space between a fairway wood and an iron. For women, its role as an iron replacement is big. So I looked first at how high the loft goes.
- Loft range. What is the biggest loft, and how many clubs are there?
- Weight. Total weight of the club around 25°.
- Price. Manufacturer's suggested retail price.
My material is each maker's official Japanese spec sheet.
What I learned by holding it
I held the XXIO 14 Ladies hybrid at a local golf shop in October 2026. It felt light and easy to swing. I held the 35° loft in my hand to see it.
When I held it, the 35° looked a little longer than an 8-iron (34°). It felt clearly lighter. That's my impression from looking at it and holding it.
I also looked for a place to try them. The local indoor golf range has a TrackMan, but it has no women's hybrids, so I couldn't hit the models in this article.
On the course, I've seen a woman in my group hit a second shot with a long club that didn't get up and dropped short.
This is my rule of thumb for women who can't get the ball up: first swap the long irons, the 5- and 6-iron, for hybrids. Loft problems show up in the long clubs first, so replacing only those leaves the short irons usable as they are. The 7- and 8-iron in this article's table are the clubs to consider after the 5- and 6-iron.
The only thing I checked myself for this article is the lightness. The other numbers are from the official spec sheets.
I looked at the G LE 4 and the ONOFF UTILITY WINGS LADY in the shop. I compare the other six, including the B-LD, from the official spec sheets.
What I hesitated over was lightness versus loft, and I compared it with the G LE 4. The deciding factor was the loft lineup. For people with a head speed of around 35 m/s, this is a way of choosing I can recommend.
For reference, on a cloudy 16°C day in October at a hilly course in Chiba with two friends, I hit a G440 21° (hybrid) on the 7th hole's second shot and it stopped 205 yards away. It isn't a women's club, so treat it as a point of comparison.
#1 XXIO 14 Ladies, #2 G LE 4, #3 Onoff
Lofts and weights of the nine. Weights are in L flex, for the club at the loft in parentheses.
| Model | Loft | Total weight (L) | Price (tax included) |
|---|---|---|---|
| #1 XXIO 14 Ladies | 22 / 25 / 28 / 31 / 35° | 295 g (25°) | ¥50,600 |
| #2 PING G LE 4 | ◎ 22 / 26 / 31 / 36° | about 308 g (22°) | ¥46,200 |
| #3 Onoff UTILITY WINGS LADY | 21 / 24 / 27 / 30° | 300 g (24°) | ¥39,600 |
| Bridgestone B-LD | 22 / 25 / 28° | 308 g (25°) | ◎ ¥30,800 |
| Honma T//WORLD for the Queen | 22 / 25 / 28° | ◎ about 294 g (25°) | ¥46,200 |
| PRGR CRYSTAL egg | 22 / 25 / 28° | 298 g (25°) | ¥44,000 |
| Yonex EZONE GT WOMEN | 22 / 25 / 28° | 307 g (25°) | ¥47,300 |
| Callaway QUANTUM MAX FAST Women's | 20 / 22 / 25 / 28 / 31 / 34° | about 318 g (25°) | From ¥57,200 |
| TaylorMade Qi4D MAX LITE WOMEN'S | 23 / 26 / 30 / 34° | 317 g (26°) | ¥57,200 |
Which is easiest to swing? Total weight, lightest first
With a slower head speed, a heavy club is hard to swing all the way through. Here are the total weights of the nine (L flex), lightest first.
| Order | Model | Total weight | Loft at that weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Honma T//WORLD for the Queen | About 294g | 25° |
| 2 | XXIO 14 Ladies | 295g | 25° |
| 3 | PRGR CRYSTAL egg | 298g | 25° |
| 4 | Onoff UTILITY WINGS LADY | 300g | 24° |
| 5 | Yonex EZONE GT WOMEN | 307g | 25° |
| 6 | Bridgestone B-LD | 308g | 25° |
| 7 | PING G LE 4 | About 308 g | 22° |
| 8 | TaylorMade Qi4D MAX LITE WOMEN'S | 317g | 26° |
| 9 | Callaway QUANTUM MAX FAST Women's | About 318 g | 25° |
The gap between the lightest, the Honma at about 294 g, and the heaviest, the Callaway at about 318 g, is 24 g (318 − 294, my calculation). The 25° XXIO 14 Ladies is 295 g, 1 g from the Honma.
Why This Order
| Rank | Model | Why I ranked it here |
|---|---|---|
| No. 1 | Dunlop XXIO 14 Ladies | 5 clubs from 22° to 35°. The 25° in L is 295 g, the 2th lightest of 9. It's the only one of the 1 to combine loft range and lightness. At ¥50,600, it isn't cheap. |
| 2nd | PING G LE 4 | 36° is the biggest loft of the 9 clubs. It's also ¥4,400 cheaper than the XXIO. What keeps it from #1 is weight: at the same 22°, it's about 308 g, 17 g heavier than the XXIO. |
| 3rd | Onoff UTILITY WINGS LADY | 4 clubs from 21° to 30° for ¥39,600. An A shaft is available too. It ranks #3 because its loft stops at 30°, so it can't replace the 8-iron. On price alone, the B-LD (¥30,800) comes out ahead. |
Since these clubs stand in for irons, I looked first at how high the loft goes. Change the viewpoint and the ranking changes. Read it in the order of what you look at first.
#1 XXIO 14 Ladies: five clubs up to 35°, and light
The XXIO 14 Ladies has both loft range and lightness. Five clubs: 22°, 25°, 28°, 31° and 35°. The 35° 8-iron equivalent is a club this model added.
It weighs 295 g at 25° in L, and 309 g even at 35°. The same XXIO 7-iron is 327 g in L, so swapping to the 31° hybrid (304 g) saves 23 g (my calculation). The length at 31° is 37.75 in, 1.25 in longer than the 7-iron's 36.5 in. Long, light and deep in center of gravity: the conditions for launching the ball are all there.
Dunlop says it's a dedicated design with a thinner lower face. It's built for the many women who sweep the ball.
The tricky part is the price. At ¥50,600, it costs ¥11,000 more than the Onoff and ¥19,800 more than the B-LD. A set of five comes to ¥253,000. You don't have to replace them all at once. Starting with the one club you can't launch is enough.

#2 G LE 4: it has a 36°, the biggest loft of the nine
The G LE 4 has a 36°. It's the biggest loft of the nine. Four clubs at 22°, 26°, 31° and 36° with 4–5° between them. You can cover a wide range of distances without adding clubs.
It costs ¥46,200, which is ¥4,400 less than the XXIO. The 36° #8 hybrid is new to this model. PING says the build keeps spin stable even when the strike drifts up or down the face.
The reason I didn't make it #1 is weight. At 22° in L it's about 308 g; the XXIO at the same 22° is 291 g, a 17 g difference (my calculation). The XXIO for those who want an easy swing, the G LE 4 for those who steady up with a bit more weight. That's how they split.
#3 Onoff: 4 clubs for ¥39,600. Flex is selectable
The Onoff balances price and range well. 4 clubs at 21°, 24°, 27° and 30°, ¥39,600 for 1 club. It goes up to 30°, so it reaches as far as replacing the 7-iron.
It weighs 300 g at 24° in L, and 315 g with the A shaft. For women who find L too light, you can pick the heavier one on the same head. Onoff's official guide is head speed up to 34 m/s for L and up to 38 m/s for A.
I put it third because the loft stops at 30°. It doesn't reach as far as replacing an 8-iron.
How far should you replace your irons? Candidates and costs at a glance
Before buying a hybrid, decide which iron you'll start replacing from. Whatever you replace, you take an iron out, so the 14-club limit doesn't change. I matched the lofts of the nine hybrids to the irons they could replace.
| Iron you can't get airborne | Rough loft | Hybrids with a matching loft |
|---|---|---|
| 7-iron | around 30° | XXIO 14 Ladies 31°, PING G LE 4 31°, ONOFF 30°, TaylorMade 30°, Callaway 31° (made to order) |
| 8-iron | around 34° | XXIO 14 Ladies 35°, PING G LE 4 36°, Callaway 34° (made to order), TaylorMade 34° (custom order only) |
The more clubs you replace, the more it costs. Here is the total for replacing one to three clubs, at MSRP including tax.
| Model | 1 club | 2 | 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| XXIO 14 Ladies | ¥50,600 | ¥101,200 | ¥151,800 |
| PING G LE 4 | ¥46,200 | ¥92,400 | ¥138,600 |
| Onoff UTILITY WINGS LADY | ¥39,600 | ¥79,200 | ¥118,800 |
| Bridgestone B-LD | ¥30,800 | ¥61,600 | ¥92,400 |
Replacing only the 7-iron costs ¥50,600 with the XXIO and ¥39,600 with the ONOFF, a ¥11,000 gap (50,600 − 39,600). Replacing both the 7- and 8-iron costs ¥101,200 with the XXIO (31° and 35°) and ¥92,400 with the G LE 4 (31° and 36°), a gap of ¥8,800.
I'd start with just one. Replace the club you struggle with most, play a few rounds, then decide on the next.
On a budget, or putting lightness first?
If you're on a budget, the Bridgestone B-LD at ¥30,800 is the cheapest of the nine, ¥19,800 below the XXIO 14 Ladies at ¥50,600 (50,600 − 30,800, my calculation). Its lofts stop at 28°, so it doesn't reach a 7-iron's replacement.
If lightness comes first, choose the Honma at about 294 g at 25°, or the XXIO at 295 g. If your head speed is on the slower side, also look at ONOFF's official guideline (L for up to 34 m/s, A for up to 38 m/s).
If you're torn over whether to replace a fairway wood or a hybrid first, also read the women's fairway wood rankings.
The numbers for the six that didn't make the top three
- Bridgestone B-LD: At ¥30,800, it's the cheapest of the 9. On price alone, it would rank #1. 3 clubs up to 28°, and the 25° weighs 308 g, which isn't light.
- Honma T//WORLD for the Queen: about 294 g at 25° is the lightest of the nine. It too comes in three clubs, up to 28°.
- PRGR CRYSTAL egg: 298 g at ¥44,000. Up to 28°.
- Callaway QUANTUM MAX FAST Women's: six clubs, and every one has adjustable loft. The build is the most elaborate of the nine. But at about 318 g at 25° it's heavy, and it starts at ¥57,200.
- TaylorMade Qi4D MAX LITE WOMEN'S: 317 g at 26°. The standard line is two clubs, 26° and 30°.
- Yonex EZONE GT WOMEN: 307 g at 25°. Up to 28°.
Who's fine with their current clubs
- Golfers whose 7-iron launches high and holds the green
- Golfers whose current hybrid and fairway wood overlap within 2° of loft (take one out before you add one)
- Golfers who hit it fat a lot (loft won't fix that; sort it out with lessons or clubs: which first)
How club number relates to loft is covered in detail in how to choose a hybrid.

FAQ
What loft of ladies' hybrid should I choose?
About 25° is a good first club. From there, add by matching the loft of the iron you can't get airborne. If you can't launch your 7-iron (around 30°), there are hybrids at 30–31°; if you can't launch your 8-iron (around 34°) either, there are hybrids at 34–36°.
Is there a hybrid that replaces a 7-iron?
Yes. The XXIO 14 Ladies at 31°, the PING G LE 4 at 31° and the Onoff at 30° have nearly the same loft as a 7-iron (around 30°). With the XXIO, it's 1.25 in longer than the 7-iron and 23 g lighter (my calculation from the official specs).
Hybrid or fairway wood at the same loft: which is better?
A fairway wood is longer and gets the ball higher and farther more easily. A hybrid is shorter, so it's easier to hit solidly. You don't need both at the same loft, so hit them side by side and keep the one you strike better.
Which ladies' hybrid is the lightest?
Of the nine compared here, the Honma T//WORLD for the Queen at 25° in L flex was the lightest at about 294 g, followed by the XXIO 14 Ladies at 295 g (checked on each maker's official site, Oct 7, 2026).
How much does it cost to replace a 7-iron and an 8-iron with hybrids?
For two clubs, a 7-iron and an 8-iron: ¥101,200 for the XXIO 14 Ladies (50,600 × 2), ¥92,400 for the PING G LE 4 (46,200 × 2) and ¥79,200 for the ONOFF (39,600 × 2). These are MSRPs including tax, checked on Oct 7, 2026.
How should I choose a hybrid shaft by head speed?
ONOFF's guideline: the L shaft is for head speeds up to 34 m/s and the A shaft up to 38 m/s. For the other models, check each maker's product page.
